Art Source 2021

So I'm just looking back at one of the busiest and most rewarding weeks of my art career. This year, despite Covid and all that goes with it, I decided to take the plunge and take part in the greatest Art Fair on the Irish calendar. I had been working on putting together a new collection and I though this would be the perfect time to launch it.

Art Source in the RDS has been running yearly in November for a number of where better to showcase a new painting series?

My new Elemental Collection is based on my staycation trips to the Hook peninsula during the summer. It is a stunning landscape where all the elements of fire (sun), water, wind and earth combine and interact dramatically. As with all my work I like to present the experience of the sea up close full of movement and spectacle.

Putting together a 3 day expo like this was a challange. From renting a van ( I've never driven one!) to bulk ordering frames, getting prints ready and and sorting out somewhere to stay, the painting was the easy part.

I loved every second of it. The reaction to the work was mind blowing with old and new collectors popping in throughout the show. I got to talk to and be inspired by other brilliant artists, make new contacts and connections that will keep me busy for the next year too.

I really can't wait to do it all again next year!
